DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Solaris, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and gain
escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error and can be
exploited by unprivileged users to gain root privileges or panic the
operating system.

The vulnerability has been reported in the following versions and
affects only the x86 platform.

  • Solaris 9 (with patch 112234-11 or 112234-12 or 117172-16 or
    later)
  • Solaris 10

Apply patches.

Apply patch 118559-19 or later.

Solaris 10:
Apply patch 118844-24 or later.
