TITLE:
Nodez "op" File Inclusion and Cross-Site Scripting

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA19165

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/19165/

CRITICAL:
Highly critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, System access

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
Nodez 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/8640/

DESCRIPTION:
Hamid Ebadi has discovered two vulnerabilities in Nodez, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks
and compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "op" parameter isn't properly verified, before
it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include
arbitrary files from local resources on the Windows platform. This
can be further exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by inserting
the code into the "list.gtdat" file which stores information of
registered users.

Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is
disabled.

2) Input passed to the "op" parameter isn't properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary
HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an
affected site.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 4.6.1.1. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
