CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
System access

WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
monotone 0.x
http://secunia.com/product/8767/

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in monotone, which can be exploited
by malicious users to compromise another user's system.

The problem is that it is possible to commit files to the "mt"
directory. This can be exploited to trick users into checking out a
malicious revision to the "MT" bookkeeping directory on systems with
case-insensitive file systems (e.g. Microsoft Windows and MAC OS X).

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary Lua code, but
requires that the user has commit permissions.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions prior to 0.25.2.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 0.25.2.
