TITLE:
ARIA Multiple Script Insertion Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA19551

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/19551/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
ARIA 0.x
http://secunia.com/product/9226/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in ARIA, which can be
exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.

1) Input passed to the "message" parameter in genmessage.php is not
properly sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed.

2) Input passed to the "description" and "comment" parameters in
docmgmtadd.php and to the "name", "address1", "address2", "city",
"email", and "web" parameters in gencompanyupd.php and
gencompanyadd.php is not properly sanitised before being saved. This
can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a
user's browser session in context of an affected site when malicious
data is viewed.

Limited HTML can be inserted via the "state", "zip", and "country"
parameters in gencompanyupd.php and gencompanyadd.php.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.99-6. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

Use another product.
