DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in NetBSD, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference error
in the kernel when an attempt is made to gather information on a
non-existent alias of a network interface via the SIOCGIFALIAS
"ioctl()".

SOLUTION:
Fixes are not available for the 1.6 branch. Upgrade to a later
version for which fixes are available (see vendor advisory for
additional information).
