VULNERABILITY SUMMARY
A potential security vulnerability has been identified in the
HP Color LaserJet 2500 and 4600 Toolbox, which may allow an
unauthorized remote attacker to read arbitrary files.

BACKGROUND
The Hewlett-Packard Company thanks Richard Horsman of Sec-1.com
for reporting this vulnerability to [email protected].
This potential security vulnerability allows a remote unauthorized
malicious user to retrieve arbitrary files from a Microsoft
Windows computer when the HP Color LaserJet 2500 and 4600 Toolbox
is in the default configuration.
RESOLUTION
HP has made the "HP Color LaserJet 2500/4600 Software Update"
version 3.1 available to resolve the issue.

Under "Select your product" choose the printer model.

Under "Select operating system" choose the operating system.

Download the "HP Color LaserJet 2500/4600 Software Update"
version 3.1 -
Follow the download instructions presented on the "HP Color
LaserJet 2500/4600 Software Update" download page to run
the update.
