Summary:

EMC CTA (formerly EMC FMA) contains a vulnerability that could potentially allow unauthorized administrative access to the affected system.

Details:

The vulnerability could allow an unauthorized user to log in to the affected system as a GUI user with full administrative privileges by providing specifically crafted malicious file during authentication process.

Resolution:

The following products contain a resolution to this issue:

CTA 7.5 and 9.0 with Hotfix ESA-2012-034
CTA 7.3.1 and later with Hotfix ESA-2012-034

Older versions of CTA code will have to be upgraded first to CTA 7.3.1 and later or CTA 7.5 and later to apply the hotfix. For the workaround information and hotfix installation steps, see EMC Knowledgebase solution emc300988.
